Heat that goes into you, not around you
A traditional sauna heats the air, which then heats you. Infrared passes through the air and warms your body directly — the same core temperature and sweat, at an air temperature you can sit in for half an hour.
What it actually does
Recovery after training
Heat opens peripheral blood vessels, raising blood flow to muscle and speeding the clearance of metabolic waste.
Cardiovascular load
Your heart rate rises to hold core temperature steady — a response that looks a lot like moderate exercise, without the joint load.
Sleep
The drop in core temperature after you get out is a strong sleep signal. An evening session finished ninety minutes before bed is the most common reason members book.
Stress and stillness
The heat gives you a reason to sit still. Thirty minutes in a private cabin without a phone does the rest.
