Ice Bath
A Morozko Forge ice bath held at temperature, with a semi-private shower alongside. Booked for 15 minutes — long enough for one round or several.
What a few minutes of cold does
Cold water pulls blood away from your skin and limbs toward your core, and triggers a sharp release of norepinephrine — the chemistry behind the alertness that follows you out of the building. It also slows nerve conduction, which is why sore muscles stop registering as sore. Two minutes is enough to get all of it; ten minutes is not ten times better.
What it actually does
Alertness
The most reliable and most immediate effect. Norepinephrine rises sharply and stays elevated for hours, which is why the morning slots go first.
Soreness
Cold slows nerve conduction and reduces the sensation of muscle soreness. Useful between training days in a heavy block.
Swelling
Vasoconstriction limits fluid accumulation in tissue. This is the mechanism behind icing an injury, applied to the whole body.
Discomfort tolerance
Deciding to get in, then staying in, is a repeatable act of voluntary difficulty. This is the benefit members describe first.
Short and complete
Two minutes in the water is a full session. No sweat, no cool-down, and the effect is immediate.
Better after heat
Straight out of a sauna, the same water is far more tolerable. If cold on its own is intimidating, book contrast instead.
